In today’s Hump Day Energy Recharge, we are going to talk about small steps you can make to take charge of your brain so you CAN change and sustain healthier habits. Habits that whether you admit you want to implement or not.

Perhaps you have tried multiple times to change certain habits and despite all your efforts, many do not STICK!

If you have struggled as much as I had in the past and as much as most of my clients do when they get started their health journeys with me, this week’s Energy Recharge video is for you.

Recently, one of my clients asked why it was so hard for her to change her habits and how I did.

Mindset is a way of thinking and a set of beliefs that determine our actions!   WHOOPEE!!!

That is…when you are able to change a belief, you will change your thoughts, and consequently your actions.

This concept of changing your mindset is as simple as that. I did not say that it is easy.  

As a coach and trainer, whether I am helping someone with their nutrition template, fitness, sleep and stress so that they improve their health and/or prevent diseases, diving into mindset is one of the first areas to dive into. Survive work leads to superficial and temporary results. What was and is part of my personal and career journey as well.

Often, there is a build-up of negative energy and thoughts. Before we are able to replace habits, we must appreciate and love who we are and what/who we have. Only, then we will be able to fuel our body/mind what it needs to thrive at work and at home.

Our brain has two priorities: safety and efficiencyUhhh….

That helps us survive but not necessarily thrive!  Uhhh….

I know…

Today, my ENERGY RECHARGE tips for you are: 

  1. Create space to start your day well!
  2. Give yourself 5-10 minutes before you run out of bed to do the following.
  3. Write or say 5-10 things you are grateful about yourself and things you possess (not monetary).
  4. Reflect on the habits associated with goals.
  5. Commit to ONE small step you will take towards changing that one habit DURING THE DAY!
  6. Rinse and repeat daily.
  7. Celebrate your small wins!

You can do this! I am here to help you get there as well!

P.S. Working on my our mindset is a forever interesting assignment. Why? It’s because every time we want to achieve a new goal (personal and professional, physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual), we will hit walls. Building discipline and resilience are part of this recipe!
