I am still fighting a nasty cold. Excuse my funky voice.

In episode #3, I promoted you to Chief Health Officer of your health and life. I hope you’re enjoying the upgrade. This stuff is priceless, let me tell you!

In today’s episode, we will tap into episode #3 so you become the best CHO around the block.

Are you ready to build your health conglomerate? Let’s do this thing.

I hope writing down your vision was inspiring and energizing. Although it can be hard to drop our barriers and be vulnerable, it is also energizing when it’s done.

Now, let’s move on to unfolding your personal mission. In Steven R. Covey’s book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, he describes a mission statement as the ‘solid expression of your vision values.’

Your mission statement may include What, Whom, How, and Why.

Let’s look at Oprah Winfrey’s personal mission statement:

“To be a teacher. And to be known for inspiring my students to be more than they thought they could be.”

The What: be an inspiring teacher.

The Whom: her students (whoever decides to accept her as a teacher).

The How: inspire them using different vehicles of communication.

The Why: Oprah believes her student can be more than that they believe it is possible for themselves.

Before you write yours down, answer these questions for us…

  1. How does, poor or good, health impact the realization of your dreams and mission?
  2. Will the quality of your health impact the amount of joy when you deploy your mission?
  3. Will health impact how often and how you express your passion?

Did you get the HINT??? Good health is correlated to reaching your dreams and carry on your mission.

Ok, it’s your turn. Grab that pen and paper to work on your mission. Pause this podcast if needed.

Now, let’s work on your strategic plan. From this point on, I will focus on your wellness and I will start with questions, how about that!

  • What are the areas related to your health and fitness that deserve attention?
  • Do I have hormone and blood sugar imbalances, inflammatory issues, etc that need to consider?
  • What has caused me to be where you’re at? So you don’t keep doing that same thing, right?
  • What do you know about it? What do you need to learn more about it?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to my lifestyle choices?
  • What kind of help do you need? Coaches, trainers, doctors, knowledge base, experts, etc.

And the list goes on. All start knowing where you are today and be curious about where you’re going. Check out episode #1 for more of this topic.

You know it. It’s time to write things down.

Now, let’s work on your goals. Let’s say that you have been carrying on 20 extra pounds for the past 5 years. Your goal is to lose them in one year.

Let’s see. 20 lbs divided by 12 months is 1.67 pounds a month. Doable? Yes. Are you committed, patient, and feel supported to get there?

How can lose that weight and be ready to celebrate it in 12 months? and in 5 years because the pounds have NOT crept back up?

And you are also looking fit!

Let’s assume that nutrition and timing (when you eat) are areas that deserve attention. Here are a few things you may commit to doing and it starts today:

  • Add 1 nutritious and healthy food to every meal
  • You will cook once a week
  • Practice food swapping daily
  • Drink enough water or practice beverage swap too
  • Stop eating and snacking at 7 pm

By the ways, these are examples of SMART Goals and objectives. They are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely.

It’s time to jot down a few SMART Goals relevant to your health and fitness goal.

Next, it’s time to set up your vendors.

Maybe it’s Amazon, health stores, juice shops, etc. Go get the kitchen toys, knives, cooking book, water bottle, whatever else you need for success.

Lastly, it’s time to build your WINNING TEAM.

You have your primary doc, your specialist, your health and life coach, your personal trainer, your chiropractor, your massage therapist, your accountability body, your friends and family members who are genuinely cheering FOR you.

As a Chief Health Officer, you will choose the expertise and skills needed to get the job done. This is your community. Don’t be surprised if you have to fire some, bring in fresh blood, and have serious chats with others.

I believe in you. YOU GOT THIS!

I hope this was helpful to you. Transformation happens with we do the work.
