In the last episode, we touched on Choosing New Habits for Different Aspects of Your Life. I hope you enjoyed reflecting and writing the answers to the questions I shared with you.

In today’s episode, let’s talk about your most important asset and choosing your habits.

COMPLETE TRANSCRIPT IN ACCORDION

There are many skills and habits we can build and increase. Opportunities we can engage with and capacities we can expand.

What is the one thing we cannot expand?

Time…

The top three reasons people seek my services are weight loss, physical and mental strength, and poor energy. Their bodies have deviated from homeostasis. The level of disorder and how out of the balance systems vary. Some people are experiencing what Reed Davis called Metabolic Chaos.

Most people I’ve coached and trained complain two things, regardless of out of balance their bodies are: time and energy.

What do you speak about and/or hear more about…

Time management or energy management?

Time is what I hear the most. I bet you too.

Maybe you lack time to do things you HAVE to do and WANT to do.

Our level of productivity and focus has a direct impact on our ability to accomplish things within an expected time frame.  When energy is low, you do the ‘have to’, right?

Unfortunately, time gets all the blame, doesn’t it?

Just for fun, I consulted Dr. Google…

I googled ‘time management’ and got 3.9 billion search results in 0.84 seconds.

I typed ‘energy management’ and got 2.4 billion results in 0.91 seconds.

And I got 2.2 billion results for “time management vs. energy management”.

I think babies and young children are the only ones that do NOT worry or talk about time and energy. Geez…

I like what the authors of book ‘The Power of Full Engagement’ said:

“Performance, health, and happiness are grounded in the skillful management of energy…The number of hours in a day is fixed, but the quality of energy available to us is not.’

Repeat after me…AMEN!!!

As a coach and trainer, I focus on restoring energy and homeostasis you can knock things down, the have to and want to without feeling depleted and stop the chaos.

I use tools and labs to identify healing opportunities. Help people adopt behaviors and self-care therapies that “coach up” their vitality and metabolic reserves.

I hope that, if haven’t yet, look at your energy as your greatest resource.

What does that have to do with new habits?

A lot!!! Here is food for thought…

One of the ways to choose new habits is to take a deep dive into areas you might be falling behind and things you complain about the most.

If your energy level is poor, how successful do you believe you will be in choosing, planning, implementing, and consistently acting upon it so it becomes a habit? You will blame time. I have God knows how many times in life.

Fatigued, overwhelmed, exhausted, feeling crappy, and fearful of your path due to chaos?  I’d love to work with you. Go to www.BeFabBeYou.com and book a call with me. Be ready to go. Let’s put a plan to restore your energy and health so you get to do more of what you want and desire.

Are you ready to create new habits and have the best life? That is amazing news!

Now what you need to do is choose what types of habits will benefit you the most.

These aren’t going to be the same for everyone, as someone else’s new habit might not fit into your schedule or lifestyle, or might be something you are already doing.

Here are some different types of habits you can start with – but don’t feel like you can’t add some of your own.

At the end of the day, the habit is something that is going to improve YOUR life.

Start Your Day Right

The first selection of habits has to do with how you start each day.

They often are incorporated into a new morning routine, but you can start small with just one simple morning habit at a time. This might mean making your bed, waking up early to have more time for your morning routine, adding yoga to your morning routine, taking your dog on a long walk in the morning, or just cooking breakfast.

Think of small, simple habits that would improve your morning. Even as simple as waking up 10 minutes earlier so you have a little extra time to get ready if you have been running late for work often.

Other Daily Habits

There are other types of daily habits you can form as well. Maybe you want to use your journal or planner every evening before bed, have a normal self-care routine once a day, or read out affirmations to yourself each day before you start your day. They can also be things like clearing clutter in your living room, practicing good dental hygiene, or helping your kids with their homework.

Improving Your Physical Health

Some habits are meant to improve your health and vitality each day. These can include cooking more meals at home if you are trying to eat better, doing exercise each day, or drinking more water.

Maybe you are trying to lose weight, but you get overwhelmed with changing all your unhealthy habits at the same time. This is when you benefit from just drinking more water and reducing soda for a few weeks, then working on adding in more fruits and vegetables for the next few weeks. Gradually, you become a healthier person and will reach your goals through each small habit.

Improving Your Mental Health

Next, you have your mental health. It is important that you take this just as seriously as your physical health. Some habits that are great for mental health include adapting a meditation or mindfulness routine, writing in a journal, and participating in activities that help to reduce your stress levels.

Let me tell you this, during my corporate career, my days often started with my hitting hat snooze button multiple times. I jumped off the bed feeling behind already. I brushed my teeth, put clothes on, ponytail was classic look, grabbed things I packed the night before, and left to confront traffic.

I do NOT recommend you do this. I recommend establishing a morning and evening routine that will help master your day, energy, and life.

Go get it, my friend.

And if you need accountability and guidance to elevate your energy, health, and optimize your 24 hours, let’s talk.

Stay tuned because next episode, we will touch on why you need to create new habits.
